Jacques Février: The sommelier turned winemaker
After having been a sommelier for a long time, Jacques Février wanted to move on to the other side: that of becoming a winegrower. He trained, then settled in 2014 on the Coteaux d’Ancenis (facing south and on a schist and gneiss terroir) to found the Le Raisin à Plume estate.
Having become in love with natural wines during his years of service, leading the vineyard without chemicals and vinifying wines without artifice is obvious to him. This is why he immediately converts the estate to organic the first year, then starts using plant preparations the following year. In the cellar, everything is obviously done in the most natural way possible.
